Hiking in Zell am See and Kaprun
On the local mountain in Zell am See, called the “Schmitten”, a sensational hiking area for the whole family is waiting for you. The hiking trails are lovely and easy to walk. You can completely concentrate on the view and discovering pieces of art along the way. Up to 30 mountains with summits above 3,000m can be admired during the herbage and mountain pasture hikes or during a yoga session on the Schmittenhöhe. What are you waiting for?
Want to go higher? No problem – for those who want to conquer a 3,000m summit we recommend a tour with the High Tauern National Park guide to reach the top of the Kitzsteinhorn. Try it!
We recommend a hike to the Schwalbenwand!
Starting point of your hike is the Jausenstation Mitterberghof in Thumersbach on 1,200m above sea level (parking lot available). There, your ascent to the Schwalbenwand on 2,011m above sea level will begin. The walking time is 4 to 5 hours. The level of difficulty of this trail is medium.
Up there a magnificent view on the basin of Zell is expecting you!
